Systray
From Newsbin
Systray functionality
New at Newsbin 5.30
If you decide to minimize Newsbin, then you can set up Newsbin so that it will disappear from the Windows Task Bar and instead appear as an icon in the Windows Systray area at the right hand end of the Task Bar. Whether the Minimize works in this fashion or not is controlled via the "Minimize to Systray" setting under Options->Advanced.
When Newsbin is minimized to the Systray it will appear something like the following:
To restore (maximise) Newsbin again you can double-click this icon.
There is also a limited amount of common functionality available without having to maximize newesbin. This functionality is obtained by right-clicking the icon in the Systray which will result in the following menu being displayed:
The Restore option can be used to maximize Newsbin. It is an alternative to double-clicking the Newsbin icon in the Systray area.
The other options are equivalent to the Save, Update, Pause and Speed limit options on the main toolbars. In the case of the Pause and Speed Limit options, a tick will show alongside them if they have been activated.
TIPSome people like to auto-start Newsbin as part of their Windows login by including the shortcut to start Newsbin in the Startup area of the Start Menu. If you want it to also start minimized then make sure the MOTD has bee disabled via the Newsbin Utilies menu. |
